Anschließend an die TV-Serie wurde 1975-77 mit 'The Oddball Couple' eine Trick-Serie um eine reinliche Katze und einen schmutzigen Hund produziert.

"The Oddball Couple" war eine Zeichentrickserie von Neil Simons "The Odd Couple". Felix Unger and Oscar Madison wurden durch die Katze mit dem Namen "Spiffy" einem heruntergekommenen Hund mit Namen "Fleabag" ersetzt.

The new Odd Couple
1982 versuchte man vergeblich (mit der in Deutschland nicht gezeigten) TV-Serie 'The new Odd Couple', diesmal mit farbigen Darstellern, an den damaligen Erfolg anzuschließen. Den Charakter der Personen blieb deshalb unverändert. Die Serie fiel jedoch beim Publikum durch.
Demond Wilson spielte Oscar Madison und Ron Glass schlüpfte in die Rolle von Felix Unger. Die Serie lief auf ABC-TV vom 29. Oktober 1982 - 25. Feburar 1983. 13 Episoden wurden produziert. 8 Episoden basierten auf den bisherigen Geschichten und die restlichen Geschichten wurden neu geschrieben.

Glass as Felix and Demond Wilson as Oscar. The New York Times reviewer noted "What may be surprising is how little the spine of the show has changed. The dialogue has been updated a little, but
the plots are essentially the same. The New Odd Couple bounces along nicely. It adds nothing new to the craft of situation comedy, but it does provide employment and a good showcase for talented
black actors, who generally don't have an easy time of it on television these days."[17] This new version was not successful and was canceled after just 13 episodes.
